2009 has arrived and that means a new year of artistic possibilities! My goals for this year are steep, but I like the height. It's akin to the climber who tackles a feat such as Mnt. Everest; whether he actually makes it to the top is another story but his goal is high. In the words of John Lennon: '...the topper most of the popper most.' Currently I'm learning the entire Adobe Suite, both CS3 and CS4. Trying to learn Flash and Dreamweaver, and admitedley they are the hardest as of yet. Art is life for me and ultimately I do it for me. If it inspires others so be it, if not then I won't lose sleep. I'm not here to dazzle, just create freely as my soul so desires. Like the butterfly so is my art, and I am true to it. I hope to increase my abilites as a digital artist this year, as every year. Create an online portfolio Flash site, an interactive PDF, and mat three of my best pieces for the upcoming art show here at Stanly Community College. Moreover, create a physical portfolio that will get me accepted into ECU. A good friend of mine, Austin Poole, is pushing the envelope of learning right now, and in so shoving me into the fires of limitless possibilities. We are presently callaborating on two major portfolio projects: 1) a Valentine's Day card and 2) a YA fantasy book cover, and possibly a five page comic to go with it, but we'll see how it all works out. My aspirations are high, but I know I am still wet behind the ears in terms of the Graphic Design world so I'm all ears to learning new things. I listen more than I run my mouth. That's a good trait to have really. A Know-It-All gets nowhere. And really, I don't know it all, LOL! How could I, I'm only human. But what I do know is I want to learn more, and my art is true to me and the desires that live within these walls of thought. Among others out there in the digital world, another good friend of mine, Chandler Johnson, aka. SOS-K, I'd like to thank for his support and teachings. Keep up the art bro! Never give it up. I know some times life gets in the way, but we must always find time for art.
